Women in the Workforce: When Women Rise, Communities Thrive

The Women in the Workforce event is intentionally designed to spark powerful connections across generations. The event brings together NLA teenage girls, alumnae, and professional leaders from across the Pittsburgh region. This is where mentorship becomes momentum. Conversations extend beyond a single moment, evolving into ongoing guidance, shared learning, and meaningful support. These interactions build confidence, reinforce purpose, and cultivate powerful networks invested in intergenerational connection.

Donations received go directly to supporting our students with:

Free college credits
Free bus pass
Free tutoring for workforce certification and cost to cover exams
Free books and materials
Lunch provided for Saturday classes (School year)
Stipend for completing the course
11th grade student access to free SAT prep & industry certification test prep
Work experience and exposure opportunities

In addition, donations help to support alumni of the program with:

Funding for workforce exams and certification
Emergency funding for first year students’ books and supplies
Paid summer work opportunities
